MLとissueが結構楽しいです

Guiceの開発者MLでは活発なやり取りが続いていて、どんどん新しい提案が生まれていたり、ポリシーが語られていたりしています。既に次のバージョン（1.1）のラベルもあるので、気になる方はこちら。実現するかどうかは分かりませんが、Seasar2のHOT deployと似た機能と思われるSupport class reloadingなんてのもありました。
ちなみに昨日のエントリに書いたProviderについても、Providerインタフェースを実装する代わりに@ProviderMethodアノテーションをつけたメソッドも使えるようにするという話があり、早速issueになっています]。
こぼれ話として、このProviderのやり取りの中で"Provider"と名づけた理由も出てきました。

Some people believe a Factory is something which *creates*; others think that anything that provides an instance can be called a factory. Dictionaries seem to agree with the former camp. Which is why Provider is called Provider and not Factory!

確かに、fromSpring()で取得するProviderはSpringのBeanFactoryからインスタンスを取得してGuiceに渡すだけなので、Factoryだとしっくり来ないですね（と、次のエントリのネタを半分以上バラしてみる）。
